PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) hose is a specialized hose used in applications that require excellent chemical resistance, high-temperature performance, and low friction. It is commonly known by the brand name Teflon® (a trademark of Chemours).

Common Uses of PTFE Hose
1. Chemical Processing Industry
Transport of highly corrosive chemicals such as acids, alkalis, solvents, and reagents.
Used in chemical plants, laboratories, and pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities.
Prevents contamination because PTFE is chemically inert.

2. Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology Applications
Transfer of purified water, pharmaceutical ingredients, and sensitive fluids.
Suitable for clean-room environments due to its non-reactive and easy-to-clean surface.
Meets stringent hygiene and purity requirements.

3. Food and Beverage Industry
Conveyance of food products, flavourings, syrups, and beverages.
Non-stick inner surface minimizes product build up.
Resistant to cleaning chemicals and sterilization procedures.

4. Automotive Industry
Fuel lines, brake lines, clutch lines, and transmission fluid lines.
Performs reliably under high temperatures and pressures.

5. Aerospace Industry
Hydraulic systems, fuel systems, and pneumatic systems in aircraft.
Lightweight, durable, and resistant to extreme temperatures.
Maintains performance in harsh operating environments.

6. Semiconductor Manufacturing
Transfer of ultra-pure chemicals and gases.
Low contamination risk is critical for electronic component production.
Resistant to aggressive process chemicals.

7. Oil and Gas Industry
Handling of chemicals, fuels, lubricants, and hydraulic fluids.
Suitable for offshore and high-temperature applications.
Resistant to weathering and chemical degradation.

8. Medical Equipment
Fluid transfer in diagnostic and analytical instruments.
Catheter and laboratory equipment applications.
Biocompatible and resistant to sterilization processes.

9. Industrial Machinery
Hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Steam transfer and high-temperature fluid handling.
Lubrication and chemical injection systems.

Key Advantages of PTFE Hose
Excellent chemical resistance to most chemicals.
Wide temperature range (typically about -70°C to +250°C, (depending on design).
Non-stick, low-friction surface improves flow efficiency.
High purity with minimal contamination risk.
UV and weather resistance for outdoor applications.
Long service life in demanding environments.

Because of these properties, PTFE hoses are often chosen when rubber, PVC, or metal hoses would degrade, contaminate the product, or fail under extreme temperatures and chemical exposure.
